Maria Marino delivers the vivid hues of her working day-time landscapes into the night with her pastel nocturnes. See much more of her do the job (each working day and night time) in our Voices of Expertise short article. We’ve requested some of our favourite artists to show us illustrations of their night time time paintings and to inform us a little bit about their procedures in this collection of Nocturne Notes.
Marino shared with us these two examples of her exuberant, expressive pastel nocturne paintings. She instructed us that her objective is in “catching the mystery of that certain time of evening”

“In the conclude, it is about acquiring the viewer to come to feel

relatively than to recognize, to examine somewhat than to look at,

and to really like it somewhat than to go it by.”
